Capture scenes as you see them with immersive human and eye field of view. Bring your audience into the moment as if they were there.
Open the wide f/1.4 aperture and transform out-of-focus foreground and background elements into a smooth, painterly blur that highlights the subject.
Stop down the aperture of the NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.4 lens to create immersive images with sharp details across the frame. Capture landscapes, architecture and exquisite textures with realistic accuracy.
The combination of the large Nikon Z mount and f/1.4 aperture lens opens up exciting possibilities in low light. Use faster shutter speeds and lower ISO, reducing noise and motion blur.
Aspherical lens
A residual, non-spherical surface. Used to reduce aberrations and enable a more compact lens size. Aspherical lenses reduce coma and other types of lens aberrations, even when used at maximum aperture. They are particularly useful for correcting distortions in wide-angle lenses and help create a lighter, more compact design by reducing the number of standard (spherical) elements required. Aspherical lens elements correct these distortions by continuously varying the index of refraction from the center of the lens.
Electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism
An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism located in the lens barrel provides highly precise control of the electronic diaphragm or aperture blade when using automatic exposure during continuous shooting.
Internal focusing
A NIKKOR lens in which only the inner lens group moves during focusing. Thus, IF NIKKORS do not change size during AF, allowing the use of compact, lightweight lenses that can achieve closer focusing distances. These lenses will be marked with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel.
Stepper motor
NIKKOR Z lenses use a stepping motor for fast, precise, smooth, quiet autofocus with reduced jitter. This quiet drive system makes the lenses ideal for use when shooting movies.
Multi-focus system
In 1967, Nikon developed the world's first focusing system that effectively suppressed aberrations by moving multiple lens groups (Close-Range Correction System). The multi-focus system is an evolution of the AF system in which the positions of multiple focus groups are controlled with high precision by their own focusing unit, all working together. This system effectively suppresses various types of aberrations, even when shooting from a short distance, where aberrations are more likely to occur. This ensures excellent image formation performance at maximum aperture, regardless of focal length or shooting distance. It also contributes to faster AF. The multi-focus system is effective even when using fast lenses.
