The IPS SINUS series of voltage converters has been designed to power electrical and electronic devices requiring 230V alternating voltage from batteries and car installations with a direct voltage of 12V or 24V. It is most often used in places where there is no possibility of direct connection to the power grid. One of the functions of the converter is to use it as an emergency source of energy for devices requiring continuous power supply, such as furnaces, central heating pumps, backup systems. A characteristic feature of SINUS converters that distinguishes them from classic simple DC/AC converters is the generation of an alternating voltage with a sinusoidal waveform at the output, identical to that in the power grid. This allows for powering devices equipped with electric motors and transformers, such as power tools, pumps and low-power household appliances. Simple, cheap converters actually generate a voltage with a rectangular waveform, sometimes incorrectly called a "modified sine wave". This voltage is not suitable for powering inductive or capacitive devices and may damage them.
