The new TAMRON 17-50mm F4 for Sony mirrorless cameras is a wide-angle zoom with a constant F4 aperture that spans from ultra-wide angle to standard focal length, a zoom range ideal for both photography and video. This lens delivers excellent optical performance throughout the zoom range and is sharp from edge to edge. The lens also features a VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focusing mechanism, which is extremely quiet and agile, and ensures fast and highly accurate autofocus. Also, the physical length of the lens does not change when zoomed. It's a great lens for stills and also great for video, in part because it's easy to balance even when attached to a gimbal or other gear. Excellent close-up performance with a MOD (minimum object distance) of 0.19m (7.5") at the wide end and 0.3m (11.8") at the telephoto end.
