Modern AI processing uses detailed information about human shapes and postures to significantly improve subject recognition accuracy and take full advantage of available resolution. Subject recognition has been expanded to include a number of new subject types, including vehicles and insects.

The 'α7R V' features an AI processing unit specifically designed to process large amounts of data, enabling more accurate subject recognition and a wider range of subject types.
Assessment of human posture
The α7R V uses subject shape data to recognize movements, improving human eye recognition by approximately 60%. The Human Posture Recognition function uses learned human shapes and postures to accurately recognize not only the eyes but also the position of the body and head, allowing it to lock on and track a subject who is facing away from the camera or wearing a mask.
Improved white balance control accuracy
The 'α7R V' AWB function has been further developed in conjunction with the camera's AI capabilities. In addition to the 'visible light and IR sensor' on the front of the body, the camera's AI processing unit helps achieve more accurate white balance in challenging lighting conditions, such as when the subject is in shadow.
New high resolution 'α'
The output of a 35mm full-frame back-illuminated 'Exmor R™' CMOS image sensor with approximately 61.0 million effective pixels is processed in real time by the advanced BIONZ XR™ processing engine for extremely detailed images in both stills and movies.
