The new optical design reduces the overall lens diameter by using two XA elements, one for the largest front lens element, and incorporates a new DDSSM (Direct Drive SSM) focus drive system, resulting in a total weight of just 445 g (15.7 oz.). A circular 11-blade diaphragm enhances the soft and natural bokeh effect achieved through an advanced design and manufacturing process that precisely controls spherical aberration.
