Panasonic introduces the LUMIX S5II system camera with Hybrid Phase Detection AF, improved Active IS and a newly developed 24 Megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. An innovative addition to the LUMIX S series, the sleek matte black LUMIX S5II delivers incredible performance for both video and stills. It is also incredibly mobile and easy to carry. It has been designed to meet the needs of the most ambitious creators. This model is built with a 24 Megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor and Venus image processor. The sensor supports Hybrid Phase Detection AF, and the new processor ensures excellent image quality and high video recording speeds with the LUMIX S1H. The camera is compatible with the entire existing range of 14 LUMIX S lenses and additional full-frame L-Mount lenses from Panasonic's L-Mount partners.

NEW STANDARDS IN LUMIX AF PERFORMANCE

With a new image processor developed in partnership between LEICA and LUMIX and a new 24-megapixel sensor, the LUMIX S5II and S5IIX are the first LUMIX cameras to offer Hybrid Phase Detection Autofocus. The camera uses a new Phase Detection Hybrid AF system that combines PDAF with Contrast Detect AF. The new system can detect subjects more accurately in difficult conditions, such as low light or backlighting. Continuous AF during zooming 1 and AF micro-adjustment are also available.

MANY VIDEO FEATURES AND RECORDING OPTIONS

The new processor gives the LUMIX S5IIX and S5II an extremely wide range of video recording capabilities. Internal recording is possible in 4:2:0 10-bit 6K (3:2) and 5.9K (16:9) at 30fps and 4:2:2 C4K and 4K at up to 60fps, while a new low-profile thermal management system allows for unlimited recording times. The cameras also support HFR (High Frame Rate) recording at up to 120fps. A variety of video profiles are available, including 14+ stops of V-Log/V-Gamut, and a REAL TIME LUT function is also available.

With a host of new and improved features, the LUMIX S5IIX delivers truly stunning still and video quality and performance, including super-fast shooting at up to 9fps with the mechanical shutter and 30fps with the electronic shutter (capable of capturing up to 300 images), 96 megapixels. High-resolution mode (JPEG/RAW) and dual native ISO sensitivity that reduces noise and allows for a maximum of 51,200. The LUMIX S5IIX and S5II also boast an improved image stabilization system that can greatly improve handheld shooting in a variety of conditions. The new Active IS ensures very stable video recording, with optimized horizontal, vertical and roll correction.
