Select the subject's left or right eye

You can now pre-select left eye, right eye or automatic settings in the menu, leaving more room for composition. The options can be assigned to custom buttons, so you can quickly change them while shooting.

The APS-C sensor features copper wiring and a reinforced processing circuit, allowing for more efficient light collection. Together with the image processing module, this helps achieve higher image resolution and more natural texture rendering.

Clearer images even in twilight

Improved noise reduction enables clearer image quality even when shooting in low light conditions where high sensitivity is required. The base ISO sensitivity has been increased to a maximum of ISO 32xA0000 (the maximum expanded ISO sensitivity for still photography is ISO 102xA0400). Noise reduction is particularly effective when selecting the frequently used medium or high sensitivities.

Natural images that match what you see

By applying image processing algorithms similar to those used in full-frame cameras, colors are rendered more realistically. Human skin tones appear more natural, and plant colors are also better reproduced.

Create time-lapse movies

The camera features a new interval shooting function, which allows continuous shooting with a 1-60 second interval between shots. The result can be used to create time-lapse movies using a computer and the Viewer application from the Imaging EdgeTM desktop applications.

Video blog with useful features

If you're a vlogger, the 180-degree tilting LCD monitor will come in handy when composing shots. For audio recording, in addition to an external microphone jack, there's also an optional XLR adapter (sold separately) to make it easier to use professional-grade microphones and get better sound quality.

The camera can record slow motion (up to 5x) and fast motion (up to 60x) movies without post-processing on a computer. Select the focus area using the touchpad

The touchpad function allows you to smoothly move the current focus position while looking through the viewfinder. Simply slide your finger across the monitor until you see the desired point you want to focus on.

Touch focus and touch shutter

If you want to move the focus, even to the edge of the frame, you can do so simply by touching the monitor with the touch focus function. The touch lock function allows you to set the focus and activate the shutter with a single touch.

Touch tracking feature enables real-time tracking

With Touch Tracking, you can simply touch the monitor to activate real-time tracking while taking photos or videos. The camera will instantly lock onto the subject you've aimed at and focus on it continuously.
