The 28mm angle of view was a representative wide angle in the film camera era and still attracts many fans today. In order to meet the request of many photographers who expressed a strong interest in using the familiar quality of the 28mm with the Art line, SIGMA produced the SIGMA 28mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art based on the knowledge gained from the Art F1.4 prime lens series released to date. Benefiting from the latest design and materials and processing technology, this latest traditional wide-angle lens is now available from SIGMA's Art line.

This lens contains two FLD ("F" Low Dispersion) glass elements and three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements. In addition, it effectively arranges three aspherical lenses, including a large-diameter aspherical lens, to thoroughly correct magnification chromatic aberration, which is especially noticeable in wide-angle lenses. This ensures high resolution across the sensor, while sagittal coma flare is carefully corrected and distortion is also minimized. Excellent performance is achieved in street photography, as well as in landscape and night sky photography.
