NZXT Kraken Elite 280 RGB (2024) is a premium all-in-one (AIO) liquid CPU cooler designed for high-performance gaming PCs, powerful workstations, and visually refined custom builds. The white edition combines efficient liquid cooling, a custom NZXT Turbine Pump, a 280 mm aluminum radiator, an integrated F280 RGB Core fan unit, vivid RGB lighting, and a high-resolution 2.72-inch IPS LCD display.
The custom-designed NZXT Turbine Pump is engineered to provide high coolant flow and strong pressure for efficient heat transfer and reliable CPU cooling. The pump operates at approximately 1,200-2,800 ±300 RPM and is designed to deliver powerful thermal performance while maintaining quiet operation.
One of the standout features of the Kraken Elite is its 2.72-inch IPS LCD screen. The display has a sharp 640 × 640 pixel resolution, a smooth 60 Hz refresh rate, brightness of up to 690 cd/m², and support for 16.7 million colors. The screen orientation can be adjusted through software, making it possible to achieve the correct display position regardless of cooler installation orientation.
Using NZXT CAM software, the display can be personalized with system monitoring information, CPU and GPU temperatures, custom images, GIF animations, and other compatible content. Integrations with services such as Spotify and YouTube further expand the available customization options.
An RGB lighting ring surrounds the display and can be customized with dynamic lighting effects. It can also be synchronized with compatible RGB components and on-screen content for a coordinated PC lighting setup.
Cooling is provided by a 280 mm radiator measuring 321 × 137 × 27 mm. The radiator is made from aluminum and is paired with an F280 RGB Core fan assembly. Instead of using two completely separate 140 mm fan frames, the cooling system uses a single-frame dual-fan design measuring 280 × 140 × 26 mm. This provides a clean appearance and helps simplify installation and cable management.
The included F280 RGB Core fan operates from approximately 500 to 2,000 ±200 RPM. Maximum airflow reaches approximately 98.61 CFM, with static pressure of up to 3.2 mmH O and a maximum rated noise level of approximately 34.5 dBA. The fan uses a fluid dynamic bearing and has a rated service life of approximately 60,000 hours.
The RGB fan assembly includes eight LEDs and uses an 8-pin connection for PWM fan control and RGB lighting. The fan cable is approximately 600 mm long.
The cold plate is manufactured from copper and uses an optimized split-flow design to help distribute coolant evenly across the CPU contact area for efficient heat transfer.
The cooler uses approximately 400 mm long tubing manufactured from CIIR rubber with a protective PET braided sleeve. The extended braided tubing provides flexibility during installation and helps protect the cooling system against long-term wear and potential leakage.
Installation is simplified thanks to pre-applied thermal paste, a consolidated breakout cable system, and tool-free mounting hardware for supported Intel and AMD processor sockets.
The Kraken Elite 280 RGB supports modern Intel LGA 1851, LGA 1700, LGA 1200 and LGA 115X sockets, as well as AMD AM5 and AM4 platforms.
