IP camera for demanding locations

The Ubiquiti UVC-AI-DSLR is a bullet-type IP camera designed for indoor and outdoor use when fitted with the included outdoor housing. Its design, based on an aluminium housing and bracket, allows it to be mounted on a wall or pole, while an additional mount also lets you use a photographic tripod. This allows you to choose the installation method best suited to the location where you want to monitor a specific area.

Image and lens

The model uses a 1/1.8" CMOS sensor and offers recording in 4K 3840 × 2160 px quality. The lens has a 17 mm focal length and an f/1.2 aperture, helping to produce a clearer image in more challenging lighting conditions. With a 52° horizontal and 39° vertical field of view, the camera is suitable for more precise monitoring of a selected zone rather than a wide view of the entire area.

Connectivity and power

The UVC-AI-DSLR uses a wired Ethernet connection and has one 1 Gb/s RJ45 port. The camera supports PoE+ in accordance with the IEEE 802.3at standard, so power and data can be transmitted over a single cable. Maximum power consumption is 17.77 W , and the input voltage range is 37-57 V DC. This makes it easier to plan installations in locations where simple installation and fewer cables are important.

Audio and AI features

The device has a built-in microphone and a built-in speaker , allowing two-way voice communication. It also supports person and vehicle recognition , face, motion and sound detection, perimeter protection and people counting. The source materials also indicate support for number plate reading. Audio features can be disabled in the software, and are disabled when the outdoor housing is fitted.

Installation and use

The package includes an additional housing for outdoor use and mounting accessories for installation on a wall or pole. The camera also has a ball-joint mount that allows its angle to be adjusted in three planes. The manufacturer has also provided a reset button , a mounting kit and a user manual. The device works with the UniFi Protect app for Android and iOS , making it easy to view and manage the system from mobile devices.
