In any case - ceiling mounting is the best solution! The device itself is extremely compact - it is less noticeable than a smoke detector. The new design features a larger high-gain antenna, increased sensitivity, and a built-in reflector. These improvements allow for double the coverage area compared to previous cAP models!

Dual-band, dual-circuit 2.4 and 5 GHz wireless connectivity provides strong 360-degree coverage around the device, so you don't have to worry about its placement in the room. Ceiling mounting solves many signal absorption problems, such as signal blocking by large TVs, metal walls in open office spaces, etc.

While the device's radio supports repeater mode, two gigabit Ethernet ports allow for wired network expansion, even if PoE power is required: cAP XL ac supports 802.3af/at PoE input via the first port and passive PoE output (up to 57V) via the second port.

Quick tip about the cAP: The customizable button in the center can be set to turn off all lights and sounds, but it can also be reconfigured to run any RouterOS script.
