The latest addition to the MikroTik IoT product family, KNOT, is a versatile device with exceptional connectivity and protocol support. It is an IoT gateway using Narrow Band and CAT-M technologies. Due to its low cost and low-speed mobile connection, KNOT is supported by many mobile operators around the world.
KNOT can monitor internal GPIO ports, convert Modbus protocol to TCP, and even transmit Bluetooth packets to a TCP/IP network via HTTPS and MQTT.
You can use KNOT as a TCP bridge for wired Modbus sensors to send readings to a Modbus server. Yes, KNOT provides wireless connectivity for wired sensors such as electricity meters and relays.
It can also be used as a backup connection for an Ethernet connection or as a control channel for your network. NB/CAT-M monthly plan is much cheaper than LTE. Why spend extra money on unnecessary bandwidth? For example, you can control a KNOT-based vending machine with temperature and liquid sensors, using only a few megabytes per day!
KNOT features support for various protocols and connectivity options:
2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth, GPS, 2 x 100 Mbps Ethernet ports with PoE-in and PoE-out functions, Micro-USB. Maximum convenience at the lowest price!
Using the Bluetooth interface, you can use KNOT for asset tracking and telemetry based on Bluetooth advertising packets. KNOT supports any BLE tag that sends advertising data, such as iBeacon, Eddystone, or other formats.
It has powerful filters that allow it to forward only relevant packets and ignore others.
KNOT is a great tool for many IoT applications in outdoor cabinets. It comes with a DIN rail mount that allows for easy integration with a variety of systems: from agriculture and asset tracking to cold chain monitoring, industrial manufacturing, etc.
Provide flexible, low-cost connectivity options to even the most remote or challenging locations with MikroTik KNOT!
