This version of the RB5009 retains all the features of the previous model:Gigabit Ethernet,2.5 Gigabit Ethernetand10 Gigabit SFP+slot for optical connectivity. It has speed, power and reliability. But this time it adds PoE-in and PoE-out capabilities for all eight Ethernet ports. With a 2-pin connector and a DC plug, you get 10 separate power supply options. Dual redundant power systems would normally provide flawless uptime, butRB5009UPr+S+INtakes this feature to the next level!
All options support a wide voltage range from 24 V to 57 V. However, you cannot mix voltages. If you use PoE-out to power other devices, the board will select the highest voltage (DC plug or 2-pin connector) and supply it to the devices.
Each PoE-out port can deliver up to 25W of power. All ports together are limited to 130W, which should be sufficient for most configurations. If necessary, you can manually set the maximum power from your power supplies. When it comes to PoE-out features, the new RB5009 can compete with our legendary PoE switches:CRS354andCRS328This is the most compact form factor version at the best price on the market!
Protect your uptime, protect your peace of mind!
What happens if there is a problem with one of your power supplies? Here is a quick example: you have 24V DC on the plug, 48V on the 2-pin connector and 57V PoE-in. The board itself is powered by the highest voltage - PoE-in. If there is a problem, the RB5009 will switch to the second highest voltage - the 2-pin connector. And if that doesn't work - the 24V DC plug voltage will be used.
What about PoE-out devices? Again, the highest voltage will be selected. PoE-out devices will draw power from the 48V source on the 2-pin connector. If that fails, it will fall back to the 24V DC plug. The board will always leave 20W for its own power. If there is not enough power for all PoE-out ports, the lower priority ports will be turned off first, and the priority can be set manually.
This compact unit will fit anywhere from small research labs and offices to large enterprise server rooms. Don't forget that you can mount up to four of these units in a single 1U mounting height with a special bracket (K-79).
With the new RB5009, we aim to provide more options for small and medium-sized Internet service providers who are always looking for cost-effective and robust solutions. It is a great addition to our previous GPEN series equipment, a product line designed to replace expensive GPON solutions.
With so many power delivery options and a durable metal body, the new RB5009 takes reliability to a whole new, affordable level.
