Power outages shouldn't mean downtime. netPower Lite 8P ensures reliable Power-over-Ethernet power even when the mains power goes out. The integrated UPS and smart charger work with your external 24V battery and can deliver high-voltage PoE-out even from low-voltage DC sources - making it an ideal choice for CCTV systems, offices, multi-apartment and smart-city installations.

netPower Lite 8P has eight Gigabit Ethernet ports with 802.3af/at PoE-out and two 10G SFP+ uplink ports for high-speed connections. The device works with SwOS Lite - fast, efficient and simple control system. Power input is flexible: just supply 24-57 V DC to the 2-pin terminal.

In the temperature range of -40 °C to +70 °C, netPower Lite 8P works where many other devices would give up. The switch can consume up to 181W of total power, with a 120W PoE-out budget. When incoming power is limited, PoE is prioritized - charging is slowed down first to keep critical devices connected.

Integrated UPS function: efficient, reliable, flexible

Connect a nominal 24V battery - typically two 12V cells in series - and the switch instantly becomes a small, efficient UPS device. In the event of a power outage, PoE devices will continue to operate without any interruption.

The charger supports flooded, AGM and gelled lead-acid batteries, as well as LiFePO (lithium iron phosphate) batteries with a suitable BMS system. The batteries are charged via a 2-pin connector, with a current of 0.2-1.6 A and a voltage of 20-31.7 V.

The kit includes a temperature sensor - it adjusts the voltage for lead-acid batteries and blocks charging when the temperature goes outside a safe range. This helps extend the battery's lifespan.

Battery safety tips

Chemical batteries are great tools in the right hands, but can be dangerous if installed incorrectly. netPower Lite 8P provides flexibility, but certain rules must be followed.

#1 LiFePO batteries require an external BMS system to provide cell balancing, over/under voltage, current and temperature protection. The internal charger does not perform these functions.

#2 Lead-acid batteries require ventilation. A small amount of hydrogen may be released during charging; it can accumulate in a confined space and become explosive. AGM and gel batteries are safer for indoor use, but still need ventilation.

#3 The negative pole of the battery must not be connected to the ground of the device or DC power supply! The negative pole is used for current measurement and charger feedback. If it is grounded, the battery condition will be measured incorrectly and the charger will operate abnormally.

#4 When charging, it is important to follow the battery manufacturer's recommendations. Some chemistries allow 2C charging, while others may limit it to as little as 0.2C.

#5 Ensure correct polarity for all connections - power supply, battery, temperature sensor. Also protect the connections and batteries from weather conditions, temperature and external influences.
