Like many MikroTik devices, this one was born out of necessity. Our video team needed a fast and cost-effective solution that would allow them to connect all their studio equipment without a dedicated rack - there is no extra space in the studio. They use 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports to connect all their equipment, computers, additional displays and recording devices. Then four COMBO ports connect to other departments if they need to transfer material for review. One 40 Gigabit line connects to the NAS server, the other to the editor's multimedia station where all the 'magic' happens. It is a 'wire-speed' switch, so the team can reach maximum speed on all ports and accelerate all video recordings.
