A faulty car battery, a dead connector, a dead starter or even just turning on the air conditioner - unpleasant voltage spikes can happen anytime, anywhere! The built-in gas discharge tube is an elegant and smart solution. Normally, this gas, stored in a small glass tube, does not conduct electricity. However, when a high voltage is applied, the gas becomes ionized, creating a new low-resistance path for excess voltage flow. Excess voltage that could otherwise damage your devices!

Another layer of protection is TVS: Transient Voltage Suppressor Semiconductor. This combination of layers protects your devices from extreme voltage spikes. We've also added active polarity protection so your devices remain safe even if you accidentally connect the power in the reverse direction. There's also a built-in low-pass filter to block any unwanted surges, and a standard fuse for extra protection.

The output voltage can be easily changed via the position of the switch, but there is also a pass-through mode - if you do not need input voltage regulation. Remember: prevention is always cheaper than cure!
