Refractometer, 0-20% Brix, ATC
Handheld refractometer for measuring sugar content in fruits and vegetables, wines and soft drinks. Brix scale 0-20%, reading scale division 0.5%.
Features:
A traditional refractometer is a professional instrument for calculating the sugar content in liquids. It is commonly used by winemakers to determine the best time to harvest.
It is an optical measuring device that determines the density of a liquid based on its refractive index. Its body is shaped like a simplified telescope with a prism at the end. The eyepiece allows you to read the data on the Brix scale - a measure of the amount of solids dissolved in a liquid.
Built-in automatic temperature compensation (ATC range from 10°C to 30°C). If the ambient operating temperature changes within these limits, recalibration is not required.
Scale measurement allows direct reading of the result. Adjustable manual focus.
Manual calibration is supported (mini screwdriver included). Distilled water can be used for calibration: make sure the ambient temperature is around 20°C and turn the calibration screw with a screwdriver until the reading is 0.
Portable, compact and lightweight: comes with a pipette, screwdriver and cloth, in a convenient sturdy case.
Wide application: professional meter for determining sugar content in liquids, food, fruits, beverages, etc. Perfect for home brewing, winemaking, farming, gardening and educational purposes.
Usage:
1. Open the prism cover and gently clean the prism with a soft cloth.
2. Using a pipette, take a few drops of the test solution and place it on the detection prism.
3. Carefully close the prism lid to prevent air bubbles from forming and to allow the solution to spread over the prism surface.
4. Point the refractometer at the light source.
5. Observe the eyepiece and, if necessary, focus it so that the scale readings are clearly visible.
6. The dividing line between the blue and white scale parts is the reading value, which indicates the concentration of the solution.
7. Keep the refractometer in the box dry and clean to ensure reading accuracy and durability of the instrument.
