is a modern, microprocessor-based contactor designed specifically to manage the charging of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. Its main function is to automatically disconnect the charger from the battery, protecting the cells from damage and extending their lifespan. The device works with systems Ve.Bus BMS or smallBMS, enabling precise charging control depending on the battery condition.
The contactor operates fully automatically, making the entire system much easier to operate. When the battery voltage reaches 13.0V (or 26.0V for 24V batteries), Cyrix will connect the charger after a short delay. This minimizes the risk of overload and malfunction. The key feature of the device is the immediate disconnection charger when an overvoltage or too high temperature is detected on the cell, which prevents potential damage.
The device is not only completely maintenance-free, but also equipped with LED diodes, which indicate its current status. This additional security feature allows the user to continuously monitor the device's operation and battery charging status.
operates with a 3-second delay if the BMS output detects the appropriate voltage. When the voltage at the charger terminal drops below the threshold, the device automatically disconnects the charger, protecting the battery. Contactor will remain open, if it is not connected to the battery, eliminating the risk of accidental connection. Additionally, if a cell overvoltage is detected, the Cyrix-Li-Charge will immediately turn off and after a 3-second delay, reconnect the charger.
In case checking charger activity, the device will automatically turn off after 1 hour to assess whether the charger is still working. This solution further reduces energy consumption and increases the efficiency of the entire system.
From Victron Energy is an advanced solution for managing the charging of LiFePO4 batteries.
