MikroTik LHG XL HP5 a very interesting engineering solution that includes a mesh antenna with an integrated access point. The LHG XL HP5 antenna has twice the output power of the LHG 5, at up to 630 mW, and is designed to provide up to 60% more range.

The LHG XL HP5 has a large antenna with a diameter of 550mm and a gain of 27dBi. Depending on the operating frequency, this can vary within /- 0.5 dBi. The best performance is obtained at frequencies between 5.7 and 5.8 GHz. The circular shape is optimal for dual-polarized antennas, as it provides the same gain in horizontal and vertical polarization. The LHG XL HP5 antenna is capable of providing point-to-point communications over distances of up to 40 km.

Behind the mesh is a honeycomb support structure, made of special plastic and intended to provide overall rigidity to the reflector structure. The transmitter itself is located on top of the antenna and has 3 attachment points to the reflector, providing additional rigidity to the overall structure. This design provides a directivity angle of 6.4°. The weight of the complete structure does not exceed 0.945 kg.

MikroTik LHG XL HP5 uses a metal mesh reflector. This reflector is characterized by low weight and good resistance to strong winds, which makes it possible to create antennas of large size and high gain, without compromising the stability of the structure. The wavelength is directly related to the operating frequency, so the grid spacing is designed to effectively reflect radio waves while maintaining a lightweight structure.

The LHG's high gain and narrow directivity make it an excellent choice for basic long-range wireless point-to-point bridges. Due to its design features, the LHG XL HP5 dual-antenna bridge offers greater stability and speed over long distances.
