NIKKOR lenses that already feature VR, like the AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR, gain the added benefit of a rotational axis for a total of 3-axis VR*.

Simplified design. The streamlined design of the FTZ II Mount Adapter allows for comfortable shooting in any orientation, including vertical. In addition to its own tripod mount, it also accommodates your camera's wider tripod plates, MB-N11 battery grip, and WT-7A wireless transmitter.
