At the heart of the camera is a DX-format 20.9MP CMOS sensor, which not only meets the needs of video production, but also makes the Z30 an extremely powerful still camera.

• UHD 4K recording at up to 30p is supported for clear, high-definition video. Full HD 120p recording is also available for slow-motion playback.

• Continuous recording is possible for up to 2 hours 15 minutes to document events or any other situation that requires longer uninterrupted filming.

• Live streaming is possible in up to Full HD 60p or 4K 30p, and the Z30 is compatible with a variety of web conferencing applications, meaning it can easily double as a high-quality webcam.

• For longer durations, streaming, and other situations where constant power is required, the Z30 can be powered via the USB Type-C port.

• The versatile 20.9MP resolution also meets the needs of stills, making the Z30 a great tool for shooting stills during production or shooting higher-resolution thumbnails and promotional images.

• The large DX-format sensor is useful for working in low-light conditions, producing low noise, high clarity and a useful sensitivity range from ISO 100 to 51,200, or up to ISO 25,600 when recording video.

• For capturing fast-moving action, a maximum continuous shooting speed of up to 11 frames per second is possible.

• By combining photos and videos, you can take photos with a time delay in the camera.

• Built-in presets and filters can also be used to enhance photos and videos directly from the camera.

Designed for video recording and content creation, the Z30 has a range of physical touch and action features perfect for creators:

• The compact body houses a 3.0-inch 1.04m-dot free-angle LCD screen. This vari-angle screen can be tilted forward for precise selfies, and can be folded inwards to protect the screen from scratches and fingerprints when not in use.

• Selfie-style controls allow you to change focus position and exposure, as well as set the timer using the touchscreen when the screen is facing forward.

• The front red light clearly shows when the camera is recording.

• Special attention is paid to audio recording with a top-mounted stereo microphone and a 3.5mm external microphone port for working with an optional microphone. There is also an optional special wind deflector to reduce wind noise and improve quality when using the built-in microphone.

• Watch your handheld videos with digital e-VR image stabilization, which helps reduce unwanted shake and blur while recording.

Fast, reliable autofocus

The hybrid autofocus system uses both phase and contrast detection methods to focus quickly and accurately for both stills and video.

• Eye Detection AF uses facial recognition to help capture the subject's eyes.

• Face and eye tracking can recognize people, dogs, and cats, as well as capture these subjects and track focus as they move around the scene.

• Ideal for close-up product planning, the AF system quickly and naturally shifts focus when you hold something up to the camera, then shifts focus back to the subject as the product moves away.

Connection and operation

• Wi-Fi and Bluetooth compatibility works with the Snapbridge app for mobile devices, allowing you to remotely control the camera as well as wirelessly transfer photos and videos to your smartphone or tablet.

• The intuitive design includes a '?' button to clearly explain all camera settings, a dedicated auto mode for when you want the camera to optimize your shooting settings, and a customizable 'i' menu for quick access to key settings.
