A super telephoto lens ideal for news photography and long-distance shooting in athletics, winter sports and water sports. This premium lens features a special, custom-tuned 1.25x teleconverter that extends the focal length to 1000mm with an effective maximum aperture of f/7 while maintaining exceptional optical performance.

• FX-format compatible super-telephoto prime lens with a focal length of 800mm (the longest among AF NIKKORs) and a maximum aperture of f/5.6

• Uses fluorite (x2), ED glass (x2) and a nanocrystal layer to ensure high optical performance and minimal chromatic aberration

• 1.25x AF-S Teleconverter, AF-S TELECONVERTER TC800-1.25E ED, which uses an ED glass element, is available as a dedicated teleconverter (focal length extended to 1000mm and effective maximum aperture is f/7.1)

• Built-in electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism for greater stability of automatic exposure control during continuous shooting, even when using a teleconverter (Not compatible with D2 series, D1 series, D200, D100, D90, D80, D70 series, D3000, D60, D50, D40 series, 35mm movie cameras)

• VR function that provides an effect equivalent to a shutter speed that is 4.5 stops* faster
