A high-performance telephoto zoom lens for FX-format SLRs. With a wide 80-400mm focal range and advanced optical design, this lens is ideal for shooting a wide range of subjects, including wildlife, landscapes and sports. Nikon's Vibration Reduction system allows shutter speeds to be four stops slower, so handheld shots are sharp at all focal lengths. Four ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and one Super ED glass element correct chromatic aberration and optical color defects that occur at longer focal lengths.

• Lens barrel lock:(if the barrel is pushed to the 80 mm position) ensures that the barrel does not extend due to its own weight when the lens is not in use.
