Close the gap with this FX-format 300mm focal length lens. The first F-mount NIKKOR lens to incorporate a phase-detection Fresnel lens, it's a compact telephoto lens that delivers superb image quality.

The combination of a maximum aperture of f/4, a 300mm focal length and highly effective VR technology guarantees perfect results in a wide range of conditions. The integration of a phase-detection Fresnel lens has made the lens much smaller and lighter, and it also lasts longer because the fluorine coating repels water, dust and dirt.

• Extremely effective telephoto lens: Focal length is 300 mm and maximum aperture is f/4. (When used with Nikon DX-format SLR cameras, focal length is 450 mm.)
• Phased-image Fresnel lens: impressive optical performance of a telephoto lens in an extremely compact design. The integration of a phase-detection Fresnel (PF) lens makes the lens much lighter, while still delivering flawless images.
• Vibration Reduction (VR): in SPORT mode. VR reduces the effects of camera shake and allows you to shoot at a shutter speed 4.5 stops slower.¹ In SPORT VR mode, the viewfinder display is stable no matter how fast the subjects are moving, and the frame rate for continuous shooting with reduced shutter-release lag is almost the same as when VR is turned off.
• Improved optics: Nano Crystal Coat effectively reduces ghosting and flare, resulting in sharper, more contrasty images. ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element reduces chromatic aberration.
• Electromagnetic diaphragm: Exposure is consistent and more accurate, especially when shooting at high frame rates.
• Fluorine coating: there is almost no water marks, no accumulation of dust and dirt, so the image quality remains impeccable. The coating gives the lens resistance and allows you to conveniently clean the glass without damaging the surface.
• Minimum focusing distance: 1.4 m.
• Tripod Ring RT-1 (sold separately): Allows you to freely rotate the lens to smoothly switch between vertical and horizontal positions.
