The new SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN | 'Contemporary' is the world's first interchangeable lens for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras in APS-C format, offering a focal length of 24mm (35mm equivalent) and a brightness of F1.4. The 'Micro Four Thirds' lens has a focal length of 32mm (35mm equivalent) with the same f-number of 1.4. It is the large-diameter wide-angle lens that mirrorless camera users have been waiting for.

SIGMA DN lenses for mirrorless cameras are designed to be lightweight, compact, and easy to use, delivering excellent performance across the main focal lengths. The new lens is based on the 30mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary, which SIGMA released in 2016 as the first in a new series of lenses for mirrorless cameras. The 16mm F1.4 DC DN | 'Contemporary' also combines the brightness of F1.4 with top-notch optical performance.

Sharing our design philosophy with the SIGMA 30mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary 16mm F1.4 DC DN | 'Contemporary' features a lens structure with 16 elements in 13 groups and the finest materials. This lens effectively reduces optical aberrations and offers excellent resolution at wide apertures and throughout the entire aperture range. The optical design and stepping motor ensure smooth autofocus during movie shooting, and the mount has a special seal to make the structure dust and splash resistant.
