Compact and lightweight 3.1x zoom lens for everyday use

With a popular 18-55mm focal length range (35mm equivalent: 27-82.5mm) and a maximum aperture of f/3.5-5.6, this lens is perfect for capturing everything from portraits to landscapes. It's also ideal for HD movies.

Smooth and fast autofocus: Nikon stepping motor

Nikon's new stepping motor focuses quickly and is perfect for movie shooting. The new stepping motor makes this lens focus quieter and even faster than its predecessor. For stills, you can zoom in on subjects instantly and with absolute precision. When shooting movie footage, this motor lets you switch from one focus point to another with almost no noise.
