Fast aperture prime lens
EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM has a large, f/1,4 maximum aperture, so it can be used for handheld shooting in low light. Using such a large aperture allows you to limit the depth of field even at such a short focal length. The annular aperture blades allow you to smoothly convey out-of-focus areas of the frame (bokeh effect).

Aspherical and UD elements
For optimal optical performance, the lens uses two types of special elements: aspherical elements to correct spherical aberrations, and "Super UD" (extra-low dispersion) elements to eliminate chromatic aberrations. This results in clear, high-contrast images that are free from distortion anywhere in the frame.

Sub-wavelength structured lens coating
"Canon" patented lens element coating reduces ghosting and flare caused by internal lens reflections and helps the EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM produce clear, sharp images.
Ultrasonic focusing
A ring-type ultrasonic motor drives autofocus extremely quickly and almost silently. The excellent rotary adjustment rings ensure that the focus point is reached precisely without overexposure. In addition, the permanent manual override allows focus adjustment without leaving AF mode.
