The ZD-987 comes with a 60W soldering iron and an 80W desoldering iron. Its iron has a temperature range of 160 - 480 °C, heated by a ceramic heating element making it super efficient. The desoldering iron also has a temperature range of 160 - 480 °C and a 600 mmHG vacuum. Advantages of this multistation are the super fast heat up time, reaching 350 °C in 30 seconds, and the even heat distribution. A soldering iron holder as well as a holder for the desoldering gun ensure safety and a tidy workspace. The station switches to "Sleep mode" if the soldering iron is not used for more than 15 minutes. It will then return to its preset temperature afterwards, if you need to use it again. In "sleep mode", the temperature is reduced to 200°C. This saves power and extends the service life of the tip due to reduced oxidation.
