Wooden 3D puzzle Biplane (Biplane) If you are a fan of history or ancient vehicles, then you may recognize this classic biplane (biplane) - an aircraft that was used not so long ago to transport one or two passengers from one place to another or during war. Now you can build your own biplane. The Historical Biplane gives you this classic symbol of innovation and technological progress and allows you to build it yourself! Biplane (biplane) - an aircraft with two fixed wings, usually mounted above the fuselage, the other below it. Biplane designs can be with wings mounted one above the other or slightly offset relative to each other - this reduces the aerodynamic interaction of the wings and improves flight characteristics. Biplane designs with wings at different heights, with one wing beginning behind the other, or with wings mounted in the same plane (one behind the other) are classified as tandem wing designs. The size and surface area of the upper and lower wings do not necessarily have to be the same - a design with a smaller area or shorter one pair of wings is called a sesqueplane. A biplane usually has more lift than a monoplane of the same size and wingspan. A biplane is also more stable in the air, but due to the greater air resistance caused by the larger wing area, it is slower than the more common single-wing aircraft (monoplanes). Biplane wings are less stressed, so they can be constructed from lighter and less resistant materials than monoplanes. Designs with more than two pairs of wings are called by their number using the Latin numeral - triplanes, quadraplanes, more than four pairs of wings, aircraft with which are usually called multiplanes (lit. multi-wing). The first successful aircraft - the Wright brothers' "Wright Flyer" was a biplane. The configuration allowed for such a relatively weak gate. Almost all available for purchase or taken as trophies interwar Lithuanian aviation aircraft, except for the Italian reconnaissance Ansaldo A.120 and the French fighter Dewoitine D.501, were biplanes (Italian Fiat CR.20 are classified as hemiplanes). If you do not count the production of unlicensed copies of German warplanes in the 20th century. at the beginning of the 1920s, and B. Oškinis' glider "BrO-16 Pempė", there are almost no original biplane designs created in Lithuania - almost all Lithuanian aircraft are monoplanes, a few, e.g. B. Oškinis' "BrO-17 Antelė" and "BrO-18 Boružė" - triplanes. The most popular biplane in Lithuania in 2006 was the Antonov An-2 (the so-called "corncob").
