The 16th-century French pharmacist and clairvoyant Michel de Nostredame is best known worldwide for his visionary insights and collections of prophetic writings. First published in 1555, The Prophecies have rarely gone out of print since his death and have attracted a large following, who credit him with predicting many major world events, including the rise of Hitler, the Kennedy assassination, the events of September 11, and most recently, the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. Less well known is that in 1994, a manuscript believed to be by Michel de Nostredame was discovered in the Italian National Library in Rome, along with 80 mysterious paintings that make extensive use of tarot symbolism. John Mathews and Wil Kinghan were thrilled to discover the significance of this work and, after much research, now present it as The Lost Tarot of Nostradamus. Cailin Matthews has re-translated the original quatrains, bringing the astonishing power of prophecy to the imagery of the tarot for the first time. This is without a doubt the most important oracle of the master seer and perhaps one of the most important decks of our age.
