Fast aperture wide-angle lens for landscapes, portraits, street and macro photography

The lens has a fixed focal length of 16mm (24mm 35mm format equivalent), offering an extremely wide field of view and stunning optical performance. The F1.4 maximum aperture ensures high image quality in low light and bokeh-rich macro photography with a minimum working distance of 15 cm. With high-speed autofocus, a weatherproof and dustproof design that can operate in temperatures as low as -10°C, and a compact size for easy portability, shooting possibilities are expanded even further.

13 elements in 11 groups and Nano GI coating for high image quality

The optical design includes two aspherical elements and two ED (Extra Low Dispersion) elements that reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations to ensure sharp and rich image quality even at the maximum aperture of F1.4. Image quality is further enhanced by Fujifilm's proprietary HT-EBC coating on all lens surfaces and Nano GI coating on the rear surface of the G1 lens. It alters the refractive index of glass and air to reduce ghosting and flare from obliquely incident light.

Minimum working distance 15 cm

Enhanced bokeh effect and more dynamic perspective when getting closer to the subject, giving the wide-angle photographer more creativity. Use the XF16mmF1.4 R WR to capture, for example, a plate of food with a restaurant in the background, or a drop of water on a plant with a forest in the background, capturing both the subject and its surroundings at the same time. High image quality is achieved throughout the entire focus range, correcting various aberrations even at a minimum working distance of 15 cm, and a sliding focus system controlled by two focus groups that work together according to the working distance.

Fast autofocus as low as 0.11 s*1

The focus ring is equipped with a depth of field scale, which is perfect for street photographers. By calculating the distance and adjusting the aperture setting, users can shoot spontaneously.

Weatherproof and dustproof

The weatherproof construction has 9 seals in 8 areas on the lens body. This protects the lens from sudden rain, dust and water splashes.

Light and compact

At around 375g, the lens is around 40% of the weight of its DSLR equivalent. This is great news for all photographers who want a versatile lens that delivers the highest optical performance in a very compact size.
