PX-1S Tweeters - Detailed Highs. The Excursion PX-1S tweeters utilize 26mm domes made of natural silk. The diaphragm is coated with a thin anti-resonance coating. ADC, i.e. Active Damping Coating This ensures clear, detailed, and natural highs. The tweeters feature an OFC copper wire voice coil and ferrofluid-free air cooling. A rear air chamber lowers the resonance frequency and improves the operating conditions of the magnetic system. This solution promotes a more free and detailed high-frequency sound. The larger tweeter provides better sound quality but requires custom mounting location. It can be mounted in A-pillars, mirror triangles, door trim, or other prepared locations. PX-4M Midwoofers – Natural Midrange and Good Control. The Excursion PX-4M midwoofers are 100 mm in size and have external dimensions including brackets of approximately 110 x 120 mm. The diaphragm, made of a composite of natural wool and glass fiber, combines lightness, stiffness, and a natural sound character. The 3D Flattop dust cap works similarly to a phase plug. Improves midrange resolution and helps deliver better sound even when the speakers are mounted low or at a greater angle to the listener. The mid-woofers feature a foam rubber surround, a Nomex surround, and a stable basket with anti-resonance coating. The N38 neodymium magnet system and a 25.9 mm voice coil on a Kapton former ensure good dynamics and cone control. PX-HPF crossovers with MKP capacitors. Two passive crossovers are included. PX-HPF for tweeters. Each crossover operates as a first-order high-pass filter HPF 6 dB/oct. and should be connected in series in the speaker cable line. The crossovers use high-quality MKP audio capacitors. The design allows for the disconnection of one of the capacitors to achieve a higher cutoff frequency if necessary. The small dimensions of the crossovers facilitate installation using 3M tape. The crossovers also allow for changing the tweeter polarity and work with optional Excursion XLR resistive attenuators, which reduce the treble level. Compatibility and Installation: The Excursion PX-4C fits most cars with 4-inch/100 mm DIN mounting points. The kit can also be used in some BMW and Mercedes-Benz models. However, minor modifications to the mounting location or method may be necessary in selected cars. The tweeters require individual preparation of the mounting locations.
