CCS2 to Tesla (USA) adapter - general information

The CCS2 to Tesla (USA) adapter is a special connector that allows Tesla electric vehicles for the US market to connect to CCS2 (Combined Charging System 2) DC

fast charging stations in Europe. Since Tesla vehicles for the US market use the North American Charging Standard (NACS, formerly known as the Tesla connector),

they require an adapter to use the European CCS2 charging infrastructure.

What is the CCS2 to Tesla (USA) adapter used for?

Allows US Tesla models to charge at European fast charging stations (e.g. Ionity, Fastned, Allego, EnBW, Shell Recharge, etc.) that use the CCS2 connector.

Required for US Tesla owners who have imported an electric vehicle to Europe, as it is not possible to use public CCS2 fast charging stations without this adapter.

Used for DC fast charging, but some adapters may also support AC charging.

Can be used with Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y from the US market, but some models may require additional software modifications.

Important notes:

Not all US Tesla models support CCS2 adapters, as US Tesla vehicles were not factory-fitted to the CCS2 standard. In some cases, additional hardware or third-party solutions may be required.

Some Tesla models may require an additional adapter for AC charging, as differences in the AC charging standard between the US and Europe may cause incompatibility.
