An interface for the latest AUDI cars equipped with the MMI3 system. New models include the AMI function, which allows the connection of external audio/video sources; some models have this feature enabled by the manufacturer. Unlocking models that don't have this feature is very expensive.

Dension has developed a special interfaceGateway MMI3This includes a diagnostic tool that activates the AMI function in vehicles that have had it disabled. This activates the AMI system and allows you to use it in the same way as the original AMI system, but with additional features and at a much lower price. The interface offers the same functions as the factory AMI, and additionally allows you to control your iPod, iPhone, or external USB devices using the original MMI system.

The device is designed to provide the same functionality as the original AMI interface. It also includes additional features:

• preserve the appearance of the car's interior
• connecting a portable audio device to the original MMI3 Audi car radio
• listen to iPod, iPhone, USB music through speakers in excellent sound quality
• see all media information and device menus on car displays
• browse and select songs or folders using the MMI controller or steering wheel buttons
• browsing the phone book and making calls using the MMI controller's hands-free kit or the steering wheel buttons

The interface offers the same functions as the factory AMI, and additionally you can control your iPod, iPhone or external USB devices using the original MMI system.

You can select the music source to play in the Source menu. To access it, press CD / Media, then select the source from the menu. This can be:

• iPod: playback is controlled from the radio (iPod control is disabled)
• USB: playback is controlled from the radio

Depending on your device choice, you may have different viewing options:

• Folders, playlistsonly for USB
• Playlist, Artists, Albums, Track, Podcast, Genres, Composers Audiobooksonly for iPod
