Ultrasonic focusing

A ring-type ultrasonic motor drives autofocus extremely quickly and almost silently. The excellent rotary control rings ensure that the focus point is reached precisely without overexposure. In addition, the full-time manual override allows focus to be adjusted without leaving AF mode.

Super Spectra coating

Super Spectra coating ensures accurate color balance and enhances contrast. It also reduces flare and ghosting - a common problem caused by light reflected from the camera sensor.  

Integrates with E-TTL II flash coverage metering function

The lens relays distance information back to the E-TTL II flash system of a compatible EOS camera, ensuring optimal metering of flash coverage.
