The grip has two main functions. One is to extend the life of the camera by providing an additional power source. An additional NP-FW50 battery can be inserted into the battery pack. This solution allows you to work harder and longer without fear of losing power when you least expect it.

- two-stage shutter button - a light press of the button allows you to set the focus, when pressed all the way, the shutter is triggered analogous to the camera button itself (the trigger press information is transmitted via a communication cable pressed to the side of the device)

- built-in micro USB port - allows you to charge the batteries without removing them from the case

- 1/4″ tripod thread - holder for using a tripod without removing the handle from the camera - built-in micro USB port - allows charging without removing the battery
