These cards are captivating for the depth of thought they reveal. The Thoth Tarot was created by the famous occultist Aleister Crowley (1875-1947). Lady Frieda Harris (1877-1962) painted the sketches for the cards. Although Lady Harris knew little about the Tarot cards and their symbolism, Crowley's advice transferred all the subtleties of his ideas into her drawings. Many of the cards were sketched and various versions were made before one of them was approved by Crowley.
