The most important thing about the system presented above is that it consists of two-way, separate speakers. What do these somewhat enigmatic terms mean? Two-way means that the sound will come from more than one speaker. Separation is a bit more complicated, as it refers to separating the woofer and tweeter, which are responsible for different pitches. For example, it's recommended that the tweeter, responsible for the high frequencies, be mounted at ear level. This allows for exceptionally natural, even realistic, sound. Slightly newer car models even have dedicated mounting points for individual speaker components.
