Runes are a powerful divination tool, believed to have been created by the Norse god Odin. These ancient magical symbols provide deep insight into the hidden structure of the cosmos and the mysteries of the human psyche. Thomas Vomelis ("Voenix") created this deck to convey the qualities of a pictorial style into the cards. The power of the Runes deck consists of 25 cards, one for each rune. The images are based on the gods and myths of the Norse gods, depicted in archetypal settings. Each depicted scene captures the essence of the rune. The cards also include the rune number and the corresponding phonetic letter. At the bottom and top of each card is the letter of the rune and its name in the Norse alphabet. In the instruction booklet, Vomelis provides a brief history of the runes, describes the meaning and symbolism of each card, and explains several casting systems for reading with the cards, seeking answers and insights.
