High Z-axis precision printing

Using Smooth PEI plate improves Z-axis accuracy during the printing process, providing greater accuracy and consistency in the vertical dimension. These features make Smooth PEI plate an excellent choice for printing parts that require a high level of precision, where precise alignment and tight tolerances are critical.

Smooth and matte surface finish

A specially selected matte PEI plate can provide a smooth and matte texture to the bottom surface of the printed object, improving its overall appearance.

Compatible with various filaments

PEI allows printing not only with common materials such as PLA, TPU, PETG, but also with materials that require high temperatures such as ABS and Nylon.

Note: Please use glue to prevent the board from tearing if you are printing with filaments other than PLA.

Reliable magnetic adhesion to prevent deformation

The Bambu Smooth PEI plate has a 0.5mm thick spring steel plate that improves magnetic adhesion. This helps prevent warping and ensures optimal print quality during 3D printing. It also helps when printing larger models with materials that tend to warp, such as ABS, PC, and Nylon.

Note: Smooth PEI board cannot be removed from production boards.

Considerations

• Please note that when using the Smooth PEI plate on the A1 model, there is a higher risk of the plate bending at the corners or the printed models separating from the plate. This is caused by the thicker Smooth PEI plate, which increases the distance from the bed magnets and reduces the magnetic pull.


• If bubbles appear on the bottom of the plate, heating on a heated bed at a temperature of at least 80 degrees for several hours can help remove the bubbles.


• Dust and grease deposits on the production plate reduce adhesion. It is recommended to clean the surface regularly with detergent and water to ensure the best adhesion.


• Do not use acetone to clean Smooth PEI as this will damage the PEI surface.


• Always wait a few minutes before removing printed models to allow the board to cool and make it easier to remove the print. This protects the board from damage and ensures a longer product life.


• Adhesion can be restored by carefully sanding the surface with fine-grit (600 recommended) sandpaper.


• Smooth PEI board is considered a consumable component that will degrade over time. The warranty will only cover manufacturing defects and not cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents or cracks. The warranty only applies to defective boards upon arrival.
