Hyundai / Kia steering wheel adapter - retaining steering wheel controls (SWC) after replacing the radio

The Hyundai/Kia stem adapter allows retain factory steering wheel controls (SWC) when replacing your OEM radio with an aftermarket one. This means you can still conveniently control basic functions like volume and track changes after upgrading your multimedia unit.

At the same time, please remember that depending on the vehicle equipment and the capabilities of the new radio (HU), some functions may work differently, and some may be omitted or replaced by others.

Connectors and requirements

Note: analog installation.

Connectors:

• 24-pin / 18-pin Hyundai (main beam)

• OEM SWC → 3.5mm jack / loose wires (depending on the radio)

• OEM Reversing Camera → RCA(m) Yellow

Important:

• the adapter is also intended for vehicles without CAN Bus,

• for vehicles with CAN Bus an appropriate variant may be required (as per manufacturer's information - see kit description/product photo).

If the car has a different pin assignment or factory OEM navigation:

• check pinout before connecting to avoid errors, damage to the car or radio.

Reversing camera - important information

In some cars the OEM camera power supply may be +6V Therefore, before installation:

• check the camera power assignment with the OEM radio (measurement),

• check the video signal Video (+/−) (measurement) and only then connect to the aftermarket radio.

Limitations and Notes

• Vehicle settings are not supported (the adapter applies to the SWC and selected signals, not the car settings menu).

• Switch Settings DIP depend on the radio manufacturer (check the radio/HU manual).

• Imported vehicles or vehicles with a different software version may have limited compatibility.
