Sony A6600

The power in your hands. A comprehensive toolkit for your imagination

The α6600 is packed with features for almost every possible situation - fast AF, image stabilization and stunning image quality, a large battery capacity and professional 4K HDR (HLG)1 movie recording capabilities.

  • Wide AF area, ultra-fast AF and stable subject tracking. Densely spaced focus points cover 84% of the frame, and the Fast Hybrid AF system combines phase-detection AF and contrast-detection AF to achieve the world's fastest focusing speed of 0.02 s2. When subjects move, AF points arranged around them are activated to track them precisely.

  • Fast continuous shooting with AF/AE at up to 11 fps. Shoot at up to 11 fps3 with low display lag and 8 fps3 with Live View burst mode for up to 1164 JPEG (standard) images at a time. Settings are displayed in the electronic viewfinder, with real-time image display, improving the capture of action scenes.

  • Silent continuous shooting will not disturb the peace. When absolute silence is required, silent shooting without a shutter sound is possible at up to 8fps5, even in AF-C mode. Combined with Eye Detection AF or Real-time Tracking, you can expand your shooting possibilities.

  • Real-time tracking and Real-time Eye AF

  • AI-based object tracking Camera tracking systems rely on unique AI-based object recognition algorithms6. They process spatial information, which includes color, texture (brightness), and distance (depth) data, and track the subject’s eyes and face—all in real time at high speed.

  • Real-time eye detection AF. Even when your portrait subject moves, Real-time Eye AF continuously and stably tracks their eyes and focuses on the scene. It also works when the subject's face is obscured, backlit, or facing downwards.

  • Real-time animal eye detection AF. The same eye detection algorithms that help you take great portraits of people are also applied to animals7, to help you capture beautiful animal portraits and wildlife shots.

  • Right/left eye AF activation by touch. Giving more importance to the subject's left or right eye is possible not only in the settings, but also by simply tapping on the camera screen.

  • Smooth focus transition. Depending on the condition of the subject you are observing, the focus area automatically and seamlessly shifts from the subject's face to the eyes.

  • Activate real-time tracking with a touch. With the touch tracking feature, you can simply tap the screen to activate real-time tracking for photos or movies.

  • 5-axis optical image stabilization.

  • Horizontal and vertical inclination. Compensate for angular shake, also known as horizontal and vertical shake, which is especially evident when shooting at longer focal lengths.

  • Horizontal and vertical axes. Compensate for camera shake in the horizontal and vertical directions, which is especially noticeable when the image is highly magnified, such as when shooting close-ups.

  • Compensation of translational vibrations. Compensate for roll (rotational shake), which is most noticeable when the camera is held in your hands during long movie shooting.

  • How optical image stabilization works. The 5-axis optical image stabilization mechanism in the body, used in our full-frame cameras, has been adopted as the APS-C sensor stabilization device in the α6600. It operates on a precision gyro sensor and detects and compensates for shake along five axes, including angular (pitch and roll), horizontal, vertical and rotational, and provides stabilization equivalent to 5 stops9 faster

  • Amazing views.

  • High image quality from the ground up. Exmor™ APS-C CMOS sensor, latest-generation BIONZ X™ image processor The 24.2-megapixel10 APS-C image sensor captures light efficiently, has a wide sensitivity range, and operates quietly even at high ISO settings. Together with the latest-generation BIONZ X image processing engine, it captures images with stunning clarity and texture reproduction.

  • Low noise, allowing for high ISO sensitivity. Across its wide sensitivity range of ISO 100-32000 (expandable to ISO 50-102400), the α6600 delivers extremely low noise for high-quality images even in low-light environments.

  • Improved color reproduction. Algorithms inherited from our acclaimed full-frame cameras drive the α6600’s accurate color reproduction. The rendering of human skin tones and vibrant flowers is greatly improved. Jagged lines and false colors are also corrected.

  • Realistic 4K HDR (HLG) filming. Versatile filming options Full pixel scanning without pixel quantization enables high-resolution 4K video recording1, while the HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) picture profile ensures fast HDR performance. Sophisticated image stabilization technology also contributes to image quality.

  • Maintain focus on your subject. Together, the camera's Fast Hybrid AF system, Real-time Tracking and Real-time Eye-Detection AF maintain stable and reliable focus on your subject, so you can focus on the more creative aspects of your movie shooting.

  • Interval shooting for time-lapse videos. The camera has built-in interval shooting11 to capture time-lapse videos at a custom interval of 1-60 seconds. The resulting images can be stitched together in high resolution on a computer and viewed using the camera’s easy-to-use adjustable-speed playback.

  • S-Log capture support. S-Log3 and S-Log2 gamma curves feature high dynamic range (up to 1300% Rec.709) to reduce bleaching and blackening and allow for a wider range of color gradation during editing12.

  • Slow and fast motion video capture. You can record slow motion (up to 5x) and fast motion (up to 60x) directly in the camera, or use 120fps Full HD footage to create high-quality slow motion footage during editing13.

  • More convenient external touch functions. Convenient touch functions such as touch focus and touch tracking can be accessed on the α6600's screen14 even when external displays are connected to the camera.

  • Tell your stories in your own way. The α6600 is built for powerful video capture, so professionals and enthusiasts alike can share their stories with the world. A 180° tilting screen makes it easy to shoot for video podcasts or compose complex shots. It also features professional audio with an external microphone jack and headphone jack. An improved grip lets you shoot for hours with confidence and comfort.

  • The large Z battery helps you shoot for long periods of time. To keep you shooting for longer, the α6600 has the same high-capacity battery as many of our full-frame cameras15, but it remains compact.

  • Dust and moisture resistant magnesium body. This camera is dust and moisture resistant16, as its top cover, front cover, inner frame and rear cover are made of lightweight yet durable magnesium alloy.

Sony FE 24mm F1.4 GM (Black) | (SEL24F14GM)

Impressive F1.4 resolution with a mobile prime lens

Advanced technologies have enhanced the G Master's efficiency, delivering consistently high resolution and smooth bokeh even at the widest aperture of F1.4. Not only is the lens compact, it is also the lightest in its class1, making it easy to carry. It features a fast and precise AF drive, and offers the highest levels of control and reliability.

Advanced optical technology ensures excellent resolution even at F1.4

Two XA (Extra Aspherical) optical elements, meeting the stringent G Master specifications, contribute to consistently high resolution across the entire image area. There are also three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements that effectively suppress chromatic aberration. This innovative optical design reduces sagittal flare for accurate reproduction of point light sources.

Advanced optical design accurately reproduces point sources

A new optical design, featuring two precision XA elements, suppresses flare, a common occurrence with large aperture lenses that can cause unnatural dispersion of point light sources, particularly at the edges of the image.

Compact, lightweight lens, new optical design

The new optical design reduces the overall lens diameter by using two XA elements, one for the largest front lens element, and incorporates a new DDSSM (Direct Drive SSM) focus drive system, resulting in a total weight of just 445 g (15.7 oz.). The reduced size and weight make this lens ideal for compact E-mount bodies and exceptionally portable.

Breathtaking G Master bokeh effect

A circular 11-blade diaphragm enhances the soft and natural bokeh effect achieved through an advanced design and manufacturing process that precisely controls spherical aberration. The minimum focusing distance is 0.24 m (0.79 ft.) and the maximum magnification is 0.17x, allowing for dramatic perspectives and expressive bokeh when shooting close-ups and wide-angle shots.

Fast, accurate, quiet AF for stills and movies

A newly developed, powerful DDSSM optimized for this lens generates approximately three times the thrust of the previous focus drive system. The increased power of the new DDSSM system makes autofocusing faster, more precise, and quieter, resulting in exceptional performance for both stills and movie shooting.

Professional and reliable for photography and videography

A customizable focus hold button, aperture ring, aperture click switch, linear response MF, dust and moisture resistant construction2 and fluorine coating on the front element ensure professional control and reliability.
