The D6 is the first DSLR to offer the ability to focus on a subject's eyes first when using auto-area AF or 3D-tracking. And because the coverage is also wider and denser, you can capture that focused look on an athlete.

Anticipate the action

With the D6, you can set the initial focus point when shooting with auto-area AF. Information from all 105 focus points is used to detect and track your subject, so you can focus on composing.

Achieve better results in any lighting conditions

Subjects are tracked with remarkable precision even in the most challenging lighting conditions. AF sensitivity reduced to -4.5 EV at the center focus point and -4 EV at all other points allows you to track action even after dark.

EXTREME ACCURACY AND SPEED

When the action is fast and you only have one chance to get the shot, the D6 can shoot continuously at up to 14x0fps and take full advantage of AFx0/AE. The camera's mirror mechanism has been redesigned to significantly reduce ghosting, resulting in a sharper, more stable image in the viewfinder.

SILENT AND EFFICIENT

With silent shooting mode and AE tracking, you can shoot full-resolution images at speeds of up to 10.5x0fps. Silent time-lapse movie recording and interval timer photography are also possible: images are captured using an electronic shutter, preventing wear on the mechanical shutter.

HIGH SPEED CAPTURE

Want to show movies in movies? In Movie Live View mode, the D6 can capture 8x10MP bursts of stills at 30x10fps and 2x10MP bursts of stills at 60x10fps. Both frame rate settings allow full AE tracking.

Real-time preview

Follow the action in real time, even when shooting at high frame rates and using a long lens. The 0.72x optical viewfinder with OLED elements allows for immediate and highly accurate subject confirmation.

Forward or side tilt indications are displayed in the viewfinder.

Restoring settings

When you can adapt quickly and seamlessly to any situation, unpredictable circumstances are no obstacle. Pre-programmed recallable settings now include settings for white balance, AF patterns, and AF lock-on.

Universal card slots

You can record JPEG+ and JPEG images simultaneously in two slots that accept CFexpress or XQD cards. Easily assign small to medium-sized JPEG files to the secondary card slot, which is designed for faster image transfer.

Faster migration, simpler workflow

The D6 was designed with feedback from photographers in mind, so you can easily and quickly transfer images instantly. With fast Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity built into the camera, you can transfer your best images. Instantly. Plus, with the crisp, clear touchscreen, you can check, select and prioritize key shots. Image transfer speeds are the fastest in this category and don’t slow down as you shoot.

SELECT, CHECK, MOVE

When every second counts and you have more options for selecting which images to transfer, you can achieve better results. Use the primary card slot to check focus on a larger JPEG+ image, then switch to the secondary card slot to quickly transfer small to medium-sized JPEGs. Unwanted images can be deleted from both slots at the same time.

FILTER IMAGES

Copyright information, ratings, and voice memos can be recorded and applied to images by simply swiping up or down. When sorting images, you can delete them and their voice memos, or just the voice memos. When playing back images, you can filter files by protection level, rating, and transfer status.

PRIORITIZE THE BEST FRAME

When transferring images to a computer via a wired LAN or the camera's Wi-Fi connection, send the best shots first. During playback, you can prioritize specific images with a flick motion or by using the Fn button.

BLUETOOTH

Upload images to social media right on the spot. When the camera is connected via Bluetooth, it can transfer images to a smart device using the built-in SnapBridge app. The smart device can also be used as a simple remote control.

WI-FI

Connect the camera to your computer using its built-in Wi-Fi. You can also connect it to a wireless network up to 200x60m away using the compatible WT-6 Wireless Transmitter. The WT-6 Wireless Transmitter is compatible with IEEE802.11ac wireless LAN and can be used as a remote receiver in HTTP mode.
