Fast aperture wide-angle lens for landscapes, portraits, street and macro photography

The lens has a fixed focal length of 16mm (24mm in 35mm format equivalent), offering an exceptionally wide field of view and stunning optical performance. The F1.4 maximum aperture ensures high image quality in low light and bokeh-rich macro photography with a minimum working distance of 15cm. Thanks to high-speed autofocus, a weather and dust-resistant design that can operate down to -10°C, and a compact size for convenient portability, shooting possibilities are further expanded.

The optical design includes two aspherical elements and two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements that reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations to ensure sharp and rich image quality even at the maximum aperture of F1.4. Image quality is further enhanced by Fujifilm's proprietary HT-EBC coating applied to all lens surfaces and a Nano GI coating on the rear G1 lens surface. This changes the refractive index of glass and air to reduce ghosting and flare due to obliquely incident light.

Minimum working distance 15 cm

As you get closer to your subject, the bokeh effect is enhanced and the perspective is more dynamic, giving the wide-angle photographer more creative freedom. Use the XF16mmF1.4 R WR to capture, for example, a plate of food with a restaurant in the background or a water droplet on a plant with a forest in the background, and you can capture the subject and its surroundings simultaneously. High image quality is achieved throughout the focus range, with correction of various aberrations even at a minimum working distance of 15cm, and a floating focus system controlled by two focus groups that work together according to the working distance.

The focus ring features a depth of field scale, perfect for street photographers. By calculating the distance and adjusting the aperture setting, users can take spontaneous shots.

Weather and dust resistant

The weather-resistant construction features 9 seals in 8 areas on the lens barrel, protecting the lens from sudden rain, dust, and splashes of water.

Lightweight and compact

At around 375g, the lens is around 40% the weight of its DSLR equivalent, which is great news for all photographers who want a versatile lens that delivers the highest optical performance in a very compact size.
