The device is designed for vehicles from brands such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche. Technical issues The Dension Gateway 500S BT CD changer works in single-FOT mode when replacing the original CD changer, and in dual-FOT mode when used with it. The device is Bluetooth-enabled, allowing you to play music, answer calls, and view your phone's contacts without removing your phone. The device can store up to 320 GB of data and supports the following formats: MP3, WMA, WAV, and OGG. Dension Gateway 500S BT It's a universal interface designed to work with cars using the MOST fiber optic system. The interface emulates the operation of the original CD changer, allowing control from the car's original audio system or the factory steering wheel. The interface is available in two options: single FOT - replaces the original changer, dual FOT - works with the original changer . Assembly notes: Mercedes E W211 models with a factory hands-free kit - for Bluetooth to function properly, the factory phone module must be completely disconnected from both the fiber optic cable and the power supply (the customer also logged it out of the system; simply disconnecting it should help). Symptoms of the malfunction included Bluetooth disconnecting for 2 or 3 seconds when the radio or CD player was turned on, as well as a squealing sound on the CD source. • The original BMW car radio/navigation system must have MP3 playback.
• When a factory CD changer is installed, it must have MP3 playback (in the E60, E61, E63, E64, these models had both MP3 CD changers and non-MP3 CD changers installed) approximately 80% of cars had MP3 CD changers installed.
• If your car does not meet the above requirements, please read about ways to make your car "MP3 compatible" through system updates:
• Vehicles with an existing CD changer: If your radio/navigation system has a standard CD changer without MP3 capability, please ask your BMW dealer if MP3 functionality can be added to your vehicle via a software update. (Except for the listed 2.b E60, E61, E63, E64 CD changers which may (and may not) be MP3 compatible.)
• Vehicles without existing CD changer: For most BMW models, if there is no CD changer installed, please ask your BMW dealer if the CD changer port output supports MP3 functionality. The original CD changer with MP3 must be installed temporarily for the update process. (Exception: E60, E61, E63, E64 models with factory CD changers without MP3 must be used for the update process.)
